Day 1: Riga
Flight to Riga. Welcome to the capital of Latvia. Transfer to the centrally located hotel. After check-in, free time at your leisure. Overnight stay in Riga.

Day 2: Riga
Private walking tour of Riga with our local tour guide where you will see all the city highlights such as the House of the Blackheads, Powder Tower and Riga Castle, St Peter’s Church and the Dome Cathedral, Riga's Art Nouveau architectural ensemble and much more. On this guided walking tour, you will visit the lively market, and learn about Latvian cuisine and cultural traditions. Overnight stay in Riga.

Day 3: Riga - Dunte - "Vidzemes akmenaina jurmala" – Cesis (approx. 150 km)
Pick-up of the rental car at the hotel. Drive to Dunte. There you visit the Munchhausen Museum, which revives the legend of Hieronymus Karl Friedrich von Munchausen. In the manor house of Dunte he spent the happiest times of his life together with his wife Jacobine and people have been telling the tales of Munchausen for centuries there.
Continue to the nature reserve “Rocky seashore of Vidzeme” on the territory of Salacgriva County. Fantastic caves and hollows, sandstone rocks in various colours create unique impressions. Continue your journey to Cesis. Overnight stay in the historical hotel.

Day 4: Exploring the Gauja National Park (approx. 140 km)
Today you get to know the picturesque Gauja National Park and will have the opportunity to explore three medieval castles - Cesis, Turaida & Sigulda - all of which are amazing in their own way. Take a walk in the beautiful park of Sigulda and discover the picturesque Gūtmaņa ala - the largest cave in the Baltics, shrouded in legends and permeated with ancient energy. Return to Cesis. Overnight stay.

Day 5: Cesis - Rezekne – Agluona - Daugavpils (approx. 270 km)
Drive to Rezerke - in the heart of the ethnic region of Latgale. Here you have time for a walk through the old town, where you should see the ruins of Rezekne Castle from the 13th century, the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the historical Museum of Latgalia, where you can see the large collection of paintings and ethnographic objects as well as Latgalian ceramics. Continue your journey to Agluona and explore the stunning Basilica of the Assumption – one of the most important Catholic spiritual centers in Latvia and the holy place of the world’s significance. Then continue to Daugavpils. Check-in at a hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 6: Daugavpils - Koknese - Rundale - Mazmezotne (approx. 252 km)
Self-guided city tour of Daugavpils. The main sights we recommend to see: the Daugavpils Fortress, the Mark Rothko Art Centre and the Church Hill that has gathered the churches of four different confessions. Continue to Koknese and visit the castle ruins, picturesquely situated on the bank of the Daugava River. The next highlight of the day awaits you in Rundale, where you should visit the baroque palace with a beautiful garden. For today’s overnight stay we have chosen something very special for you. You will stay in the historical Mazmezotne mansion. Let today end in a cozy atmosphere.
 

Day 7: Mezotne - Liepaja - Kuldiga (approx. 305 km)
Drive to Liepaja. Walk through the labyrinths of the northern fortifications, discover the exotic architecture of the Karosta district or the former prison, visit the Art Nouveau buildings in the city centre and the unique wooden architecture in Jurmalas Park. Continue to Kuldiga – the pearl of the ethnic region of Kurzeme and one of the most charming towns in Latvia with romantic narrow streets and courtyards. The vaulted red-brick bridge across the Venta river exudes a special charm. Upriver, Venta rumba is the widest waterfall in Europe and is part of the Venta Valley Nature Reserve. After checking in, we recommend you to take an evening walk through the romantic Old Town of Kuldiga. Overnight stay.

Day 8: Kuldiga - Ventspils - Slitere National Park - Jurmala (approx. 265 km)
Your journey takes you today to Ventspils, which has a lot to offer, not least its Blue-flag beach. Ships have been entering the Ventspils port for 700 years, guarded by the Livonian Order castle. Today brings you a scenic highlight as you travel to the natural paradise to Slitere National Park, located in the Northern Kurzeme peninsula, washed by the Baltic Sea. The park is known for its incredibly beautiful vista – courtesy of the sea, broadleaf forests, bogs, wetlands, boreal forests and swamps. Then drive to Jurmala. Check-in and overnight stay at the hotel in Jurmala.

Day 9: Jurmala
Sightseeing tour of the seaside resort of Jurmala. Jurmala’s pride is its rich natural resources: healing mineral baths, peat mud, pine forests, healthy beach climate, dunes and sandy beaches stretching 32.8km. Overnight stay at a hotel in Jurmala.

Day 10: Jurmala - Riga (approx. 35km)
Drive to Riga airport. Return of the rental car. Journey home.
