Choir tour to Lithuania and Latvia

Trip programme:

Day 1: Arrival to Riga
Welcome to Riga, the capital of Latvia. Meeting with your English-speaking tour guide at the Riga airport and transfer to the centrally located hotel. Check in to the hotel and time to relax and refresh. Welcome dinner with local specialties in the hotel restaurant. Overnight stay in Riga.
Day 2: Performance in Riga
You will take a city tour of Riga and explore the magnificent houses from the Hanseatic era, enchanting Art Nouveau ensembles, medieval alleys, and many churches that adorn the Old Town. In the historical center, you will see the Town Hall Square with the Blackhead House, the "Three Brothers," the Big and Small Guilds, the Powder Tower, Riga Castle, the beautiful St. Peter's Church, and much more. In the afternoon - choir rehearsal for your performance. In the early evening - concert in the church or concert hall. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 3: Riga - Jelgava - Klaipeda
Today you will leave Riga and later Latvia. But first you will visit Jelgava Castle, situated on Pilssala Island. The castle impresses with its crypt, which was built for the Dukes of Courland. Your journey will continue for about 40 kilometers to Rundale Palace, the largest baroque ensemble in Latvia. Guided tour in the Palace and possibility for lunch. On your way, you'll make a short stop at the Hill of Crosses near Šiauliai, a sacred site filled with thousands of crosses representing faith, love, and sacrifice. Arrive in Klaipeda in the early evening and check into your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Performance in Klaipeda
Guided tour of Klaipėda with the main sights: the ruins of the former castle, Theater Square with the Ännchen von Tharau fountain, the historic town hall, the sailing ship “Meridianas”, the artist's courtyard, and much more. On this tour, you will immerse yourself in the past and learn about the city of Memel's eventful history, when King Friedrich Wilhelm III and Queen Luise fled from Napoleon here in the 19th century and the city served as Prussia's provisional capital. In the afternoon - your choir performance in Klaipeda. Dinner in the local restaurant in the old town. Overnight stay in Klaipeda.

Day 5: Curonian Spit
Experience the beauty of the Curonian Spit on a guided tour. This region is known for its stunning unspoiled nature, including huge shifting sand dunes, thatched fishermen's houses, and endless sandy beaches. You'll visit the picturesque fishing village of Nida, home to the High Dune with sundial, the Lutheran Church with ethnographic cemetery, and the famous Thomas Mann House. In Juodkrante, you'll have the opportunity to see the cormorant colony, the old villa district of the former resort, and the Amber Bay. After a full day of exploration, you'll return to Klaipeda for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Klaipeda - Kaunas - Vilnius
Departure to Vilnius, with a stop in Kaunas, the former capital of Lithuania. Guided city tour of Kaunas with its main attractions. Continue to Trakai, a picturesque town located in a lake landscape known for its medieval castle. You will have a guided castle tour and later enjoy the lunch with local specialties. In the evening, arrival in Vilnius and check in into hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Vilnius
On today's tour of the Old Town of Vilnius, you will see the most famous sights of the city, such as the Baroque Peter and Paul Church, the Cathedral Square, St. Anne's and St. Bernard's Church, the Gates of Dawn - a religious relic and architectural landmark, the Vilnius University architectural complex and much more. In the early evening – your choir concert in Vilnius. A farewell dinner will be held in a typical restaurant in the city center. Overnight stay in hotel in Vilnius.
Day 8: Departure
The time until departure is at your free disposal. Transfer to the airport and return flight.
